The award is named in honor of the Foundation’s Founder and President Emeritus William T. Newman, Jr. and was established to recognize an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and made an extraordinary contribution to the Arlington community.

Reinsch, raised in Arlington and attended public school, followed in the entrepreneurial footsteps of her parents. She is the chief executive officer of the E.G. Reinsch Companies, developing and managing both commercial and residential real estate, primarily rental apartments in Northern Virginia and Florida, and the River Run Golf & Country Club Community in Charlotte, N.C. area.

Through her family foundation, she strengthens the missions of many Arlington non-profits, as well as organizations regionally and internationally. Through her charitable endeavors, she was knighted as a Dame into The Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller, an international philanthropic order, which provides help to those less fortunate.

Over the years, her leadership includes board membership at the Virginia Hospital Center, Marymount University, Virginia College Fund, Northern Virginia Apartment Association and various local banks. She also chaired the Virginia Hospital Center’s Galen Society, is on the George Washington University Advisory Council for the Graduate School of Education and Human Development, was on the Board of Visitors, Davidson College, N.C. and is a former trustee of the Arlington Community Foundation.

The Spirit of Community Award Luncheon will be hosted on Nov. 12 at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel. To become a sponsor or to RSVP, visit http://bit.ly/2014soc or contact Brenda Bengochea at bbengochea@arlcf.org.
