Sheriff Beth Arthur with Camille Watkin (left) at the party for inmates and their children. Inmates gave Arthur high praise for her progressive management of the detention facility. Sheriff Beth Arthur was first elected in 2000 and is the first woman elected to a County Sheriff’s position in Virginia. She has served more than 31 years with the Arlington Sheriff’s Office. Watkin worked as deputy sheriff and then became a case manager, working directly with inmates to ensure they have a positive reentry into the community.
