Arlington: Neighborhood Day at Chestnut Hills

The newly renovated pre-school playground in Chestnut Hills was officially reopened Saturday morning, May 9. Along with the official ribbon-cutting, FitArlington was on site promoting the upcoming new Northern Virginia Project Play website. www.novaplays.org. Project Play is part of the Alexandria Childhood Obesity Action Network (ACOAN), working to improve play opportunities for children in the City of Alexandria. The program has now taken roots in Arlington to improve play opportunities for children in Arlington. The newly renovated park that features a Champion White Oak tree embraces a new education theme park at the renovated 4.2-acre, tree-shaded park at the corner of N. Harrison St. & 27th St. N.

Youngsters and adults can play on paths that wind through a series of intertwined arches and games including find the letters, numbers, colors or shapes. Other play features include a wavy climbing feature, school bus, school house, slide, spinner and a music/sound column.
