Arlington Brief: Greenbrier Learning Center To Move

Greenbrier Learning Center, an Arlington nonprofit that provides after school and summer tutoring and enrichment programs for local at-risk and low-income youth, will be moving to a new location at the recently renovated Arlington Mill Community and Senior Center. GLC is moving from its current home in the Greenbrier Baptist Church, where the nonprofit has operated since 1994.

County Board Chair Mary Hynes highlighted the move at a board meeting, which noted that GLC and the county have a long history of working together to serve the needs of students from Barcroft, Carlin Springs, Randolph, Claremont and Campbell Elementary Schools.

The move to Arlington Mill will occur by Sept. 1, before students return to school. In the meantime, GLC’s summer enrichment camp takes place from June 29 – Aug. 7, offering a full-day program for 80 students.
